White Chocolate Mountain

I'm not a huge fan of white chocolate but one of best friends is gaga for it. For her birthday, I made her a mini white chocolate extravaganza (I was going to make her a starbucks coffee cup but changed my mind at the last minute). I like doing chocolate decorations because you know people are going to enjoy eating the whole cake not scraping the cake from the inside of the fondant.

This cake is 4" square, I love the illusion of height the piped white chocolate adds without the extra cake!

Enjoy the rain!

Sunflowers for a cause

Tomorrow is RSPCA cupcake day! These are for my work morning tea to raise money :)

They are white chocolate, passionfruit and raspberry with passionfruit buttercream - YUM! We may have tried one already - just to check they tasted ok................

I was aiming to pipe sunflowers on the top but my piping needs a teensy bit of work!

I also made some dark chocolate espresso cupcakes with left over mixture from my birthday cake. They have a very rich distinctive flavour that isn't for everyone but is my. absolute. favourite. I won't post pictures of the cupcakes cause next week I'll post pictures my birthday cake! Yay!

Have a super fabulous week!!!

Latte anyone??

My newest flavour - Chai Latte. A white choc mud base with distinctive chai flavours - I love it, very warming with a hint of spice.

I am sick of making brown and white coloured cakes, so I made this one purple, and the cinnamon buttercream I coupled with it pink.  I chose purple because it is my favourite colour and this cake will form one tier of my upcoming birthday cake :). I'm going to colour more of my cakes - I want them to be as exciting and colourful on the inside as they are on the outside.

Coloured cakes for kids are a huge trend at the moment, I'm just slow to catch on. Although, a couple of years ago I made a giant cupcake for my mum's birthday cake with a rainbow coloured surprise when she cut in.

I'm currently planning blog posts on my recipes and how I adapt them for the many different flavours I talk about - turns out I first need to document my recipes and quantities of ingredients.

I'm off now to pick up my award winning Monopoly board - I won first prize!

Have a great week!

Pictorial Evidence of my Awesomeness

I could write about how much I love Monopoly and how I love the idea of recreating real life objects in sugar but that would take up valuable space when I could just be showing you picture after picture of my AWESOME Monopoly board cake!!!!

What a masterpiece! What talent! I'm just saying what everyone's thinking.

P.S. This is my cake entry in my local show, can you say first prize??
P.P.S. I'm in quite the modest mood tonight ;)
P.P.P.S I know there's not enough squares on the board but I'm not letting it ruin my buzz.
